[Effective April 1, 2026] Notice of Introduction of Accommodation Tax
Starting April 1, 2026, a lodging tax will be introduced in Hokkaido and Sapporo City for stays from that date onward.
■ Tax start date
Effective for stays from April 1, 2026.
*Even if you made a reservation before April 1, 2026, the accommodation tax will be levied on stays from April 1 onwards.
■ Accommodation tax rate
A tax will be levied per person, per night, according to the following accommodation rates.
